The killing of some Nigerian Shi'ites at the weekend is generating steam and wide criticisms.
Thousands of members of the Shia Muslim sect took to the streets yesterday, December 14, in protest over the arrest of their leader Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and the death of their members during the clash with Nigerian army on Saturday.
The protests were staged in Kano, Kebbi and Bauchi as well as in different countries.

Football authorities in Spain have banned Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham for two Spanish La Liga games. Recall that Jude Bellingham was red carded in the 90+10th minute of the Spanish La Liga game between Real Madrid and Valencia on March 2.
Bellingham got into the bad books of referee Gil Manzano when he agitated against the referee’s decision to blow the final whistle seconds after his last kick of the ball had entered the net.

Former President of the Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has expressed concerns for the youths as Twitter enters it’s 100th day of ban in Nigeria. Naija News recalls President Muhammadu Buhari-led government had on 5 June 2021, officially put an indefinite ban on Twitter operations in Nigeria.
The government’s declaration comes after the owners of the microblogging platform deleted tweets made by the Nigerian President.
President Buhari had in the deleted post warned the south eastern people of Nigeria, predominantly Igbo people, of a potential repeat of the 1967 Biafran Civil War due to the ongoing insurgency in Southeastern Nigeria.
Senator Yarima No Longer Accepted In Zamfara
Former Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, has said Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima is no longer relevant in Zamfara politics. Naija News reports that Yari made this known while addressing his supporters from Zamfara North senatorial zone at his Talata-Mafara residence.
According to the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yerima is longer accepted.
He explained that when the senator was the political godfather, nobody dared challenge him as his decision was final and irrevocable.
