The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has hired a new lawyer, Chukwuma Machukwu Umeh to strengthen his legal team. Kanu is currently facing charges on terrorism, treasonable felony amongst other crimes filed against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on Twitter by one of Kanu’s lawyers, Aloy Ejimakor, on Monday evening.
The lawyer to the IPOB leader disclosed that he just exited from a groundbreaking visitation with Kanu, adding that they covered many new grounds.

On Friday, names and photographs of the 197 girls still in the hands of the Boko Haram terrorist sect appeared in ThisDay newspaper - 67 days after almost 300 female students were abducted from their dormitories of the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok town, Borno State.
According to the report submitted by the fact-finding Committee to President Goodluck Jonathan, which was set up to look into the matter that sparked national and international outrage, 276 girls were abducted on April 14, with 219 still missing.
